New York City - 2015
Auf unserer Reise nach Hawaii haben wir ein paar Tage Zwischenstation in New
York City gemacht. Ein Nonstopflug von Europa nach Hawaii ist ohnehin nicht
möglich,
sodass man immer am Festland USA umsteigen muss. Um den Stress des Umsteigens
(inkl. USA-Einreise) zu vermeiden, haben
wir uns entschieden, gleich ein paar Tage in New York zu bleiben, wo wir schon
2010 zu Besuch waren. Das Hotel direkt in Manattan
- nur eine Straße vom
Empire State Building bzw. wenig Straßen vom Time Square entfernt -
bot den optimalen Ausgangspunkt wobei alle Teile Ney York Citys ohnehin sehr
gut mit der Underground erreichbar sind.

Adressen New Yorks. Zu den prominenten Bewohnern zählen z.B. Steven

Das 541m hohe One World Trade
Center (1WTC....bis 2009 Freedom Tower) am Ground Zero. Am Fuße
das 9/11 Memorial mit den Namen aller Opfer des Terroranschlags vom
11.September 2001. Im Bild eines der beiden Becken, an deren Stelle
früher das World Trade Center stand.
